Creating the Sculpture: Frank begins each sculpture by investing countless hours of research. Wax is the preferred medium since this allows him to accentuate every life-like detail. Six months to over five years are spent creating the original. Frank is proud to say that he takes his time to create each piece. Very few artists can take a piece from the original concept, create the mold, and actually paint each piece. Expertly engineered molds by the artist capture the exacting detail from the original pieces. To complete the beginning process, each piece is cast in a high-quality sculpting medium to ensure strength and durability.
Chasing (the art of deleting all seams ) occurs in the next stop as well as the first painting stage. When painting, Frank takes special care to create the color gradations of the animals as they appear in the wild but no two pieces will be exactly alike. The attention to detail is completed with the weeds that show the animals in their natural habitat. Because the entire process is done in the studio in Colorado Springs, Colorado, Frank can offer his collectible sculptures at affordable prices. Every piece is signed by the artist.
Over the years, collectors include other artists, hunters, art collectors, and those who appreciate some of the finest wildlife art available. They have come to recognize his fine workmanship and appreciate his stunning accuracy. From the Craggy Rocky Mountains to the expansive eastern plains, Frank brings to life the unique wildlife of Colorado.
Each hand painted, cast sculpture is checked to ensure your Colorado treasure is of the highest quality.
Collectors anxiously await the release of one or two new pieces a year.
